I had this idea for a case for a few years now and wanted to make a case. A year ago my desk chair broke a leg and I built a wood box base for it. Basically the case will look the same as a cube but with out the desk chair seat. This was the fist drawing. Then went to this. Fans suck in air from the sides and out the top. Finally this is what I came up with. Needs to have the fan controls put back on. I am really thinking about starting this tell me what you think. Besides saying that it will be a dust collector.
That would be a really nice case. Make sure you get a dark wood like that or at least a dark stain and a blue tint on the glass because I love the colors there. But nice
i like the design, maybe the 2nd one more but theyre cool. whats up with people having two DVD drives? is it like read and burn at the same time?
As far as I know, dual DVD drives are most convenient for copying CDs and/or DVDs. So yea, read from one, burn to the other. That cuts the time down considerably rather than ripping first then burning. Of course it probably does take longer than burning the same amount of material that is already on the HD.
There's also linux boot cds. ...so you're NOT making a computer seat? It's actually a neat concept. It would be good for people with no room, although the cables are at risk.
And your butt lol. Although a nice fan to make it breezy down there might be nice Good luck with the build, A nice wood case would look real good.
Lol no seat, just a box with windows. As for the 2 drives. I always have some game camped out in one drive for a few months and use the other one more often.
I have not been able to do anymore on this, work is starting to be a pain. I have not been able to get off before 5:00pm in 4 weeks and worked 83 hours last week. I talked to some people that could cut my panels and acrylic, but that was 3 weeks ago. Wood I was looking at 1/2 inch oak ply. $56 4 x 8 board.
Next week I should be able to start on this. I already bought some of the computer components, ordered the video card already. A 512MB PCIE 2.0 9800 GTX and the other components will be ordered on Monday.
lol I guess it's more the other picture I don't like. You should use a lighter wood that one seems too dark but I'm thinking you just threw that in there? The metal should look pretty cool after thinking about what it would actually look like instead of what the picture looks like.
I have half of the computer stuff Quit eating the bubble wrap cat!! So far I have Intel Core2 Duo E8400 3.00Ghz 2x ASUS SATA Lightscribe DVD/RW 20X Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP Expert video capture card Segate 500 Gb HDD Windows Vista Ulitmate 32bit XFX Gforce 9800 GTX Still waiting on ASUS P5Q Motherboard ZALMAN|9700 KingWin PSU 600W Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2 1GB)
I've got a cute little 8800GS if you want to trade Man is that card silent, I'm tellin yah JK, its horrid. Let me know how that 9800 runs! I really like this idea the best. But with this bottom It's your case tho. I hope to see it evolve. Great idea!
I will only do the metal if I screw up cutting the sides. I am going to try to cut the corners at 45 degree angles.
