Oak! Copper! ... Carbon fibre and perspex? :p

It's an odd mix, to say the least. Still, the shape of the desk is nice. :) You got air intakes into the desk planned then?

It is odd but it will work nicely :)
The copper will more than likely be nickle plated.

Lol ye it will either be polished and lacquered copper.
    Or nickel plated.

Not sure what I will do until I'm there :)

I have thought a lot about lots of different options :)

But I think im settled on Carbon at least for now.

Can always change it in the future.
Looking at it in person makes it look really stunning.
    Pictures don't do it justice.

The amount of work you've put into this, and the results you're getting are breathtaking. While some people have said that it's easy for your interest/excitement to be burned out due to the number of desk builds that are done, some of them are on a different tier altogether, this being one of them in my humble opinion. That being said, I am also of the opinion that the optical/IO/Fan control panels look wrong when you look at the overall build so far. Loved the vandal switches though.

I look forward to seeing how it turns out at the end. :thumb:

I would have went with black crushed velvet, but that's just me. Your way will attract less dust. I like that you masked the caulking seams. -Never seen that done on a computer.

Probably just my personal taste but i'm not that partial to the carbon fibre in a wooden desk. Doesn't fit in properly in my opinion.

Where did you get the motherboard trays from?
I'm in the early stages of planning a somewhat similar build: 2 systems in one wooden desk.
One of the things I'm finding hard is sourcing a couple of suitable motherboard trays, without buying two whole cases and hacking them up. Especially as most cheap cases seem to have the mobo mounted so that the pci brackets project out of the back of the case, making them unsuitable for mounting in a desk like this.

Looks really great... the carbon wrap isn't a deal breaker, if you're happy with it, we need to deal with it. :p

@Cheapskate I have to agree with you though, I can only imagine how good some black velvet would go in this build!! Or even some black leather like kelvinb said, with high polished copper tubing - but then again, if you go that route, one will really have to tie everything together with copper paint and bare copper waterblocks to make the best of it, imho.

With the carbon wrap, you can use any hardware as it gives a "modern" feel to everything and you have more options as to what colour scheme, etc you want to use.

Just my 2c.... but back to topic and my conclusion, NICE BUILD @SavellM!!!

    Thanks man ;)

The Carbon isnt 100% final but I do think im going to stick with it.

If I find that it does bug me I can always pull it up, its not the end of the world.

    So...

I have been having strong thoughts of changing out the copper and using Acrylic tubing instead...

This will be used with White Pastel Mayhems coolant.

Dont forget that I am currently using crystal links to join up the pumps and reservoirs.

But I just wanted to get your general opinions on using Ultra clear acrylic tube instead of copper/nickel?

The main reason why I was going to go with copper is so that I could run clean long lines between the 2 pc's across the desk.
But now with acrylic I can achieve the same thing and still have the liquid visible.

With the white coolant it may look pretty awesome against the carbon base a good contrast.

Also the general theme is White/Black.
    Hence my sleeving is White.

What do you guys think of that instead?

I have also just spent WAY too much money on the Deluxe White Bitspower fittings...
I've decided to change the copper pipe to use Acrylic tubing.
As such I have changed out all the old fittings to Deluxe White to match the liquid :)

    So a small update.

Took out my HTPC and started the rebuild:

    2 Beautiful Mobo's with 2x i5 4670T's
1 for Server and 1 for HTPC:

    Dirty old HTPC
    [IMG]

Cleaned out still have a little bit of work to do new HTPC
    [IMG]

Big brother Sabertooth in the Server tray on the desk
    [IMG]

    i5 Seated!

Temp setup just checking it works
    [IMG]

    All working nicely
    [IMG]

Need to make new PSU cables for the server.
    And get the HDD's connected.

I have a nice plan to mount the HDD's in the desk so it looks good.
    At least I hope ;)
