Hi there i have never built a scratch case before or modded a pc case before although i am a keen model maker very handy. i have been thinking of building a pc case that is K9 from DrWho with the pc inside so as that you cannot tell it is a pc case on first glance. I have some of the original plans for K9 and a few from kits to build a model of him but was hoping for some input from all of you on the best materials and maybe some ideas on cooling and hiding the essential parts and cooling ducts so as not to interupt the airflow and keep the illusion of just a model. I also plan to make him speak with events that happen with the pc such as startup and shutdown and the like, Any info would be good and opinion would be welcomed. Thanks
How powerfull a system are we talking about? Full blooded watercooled with multiple graphicscards, or a ITX web browser?
I too have the original blueprints and have always thought it would be a cool case build for ITX. Simple shape except for the neck. I thought an open mesh bottom would be enough airflow. Segregate it into half intake and half exhaust. Just whip up a drawing or that evil Sketchup stuff and begin. Would be fun. I almost did K9 for the Cardboard Case Contest on TheModBrothers forum. john
It will be ATX. It wont be housing anything special just a standard quad core system with good gpu card and 2 hdd and a 1bd and 1 dvdrw with air cooling atm until i can upgrade to maybe water but the most important thing for now is the case and then the system
Was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts about which materials would be best Or any suggestions about the design
