Hello guys, I've done a mod or two, nothing serious yet.

I did some planning for a previous scratch build that was just as easily scratched out, cause I ended up not liking the design.

However, I've done some thinking and came around a design for a case on Google sketchup's warehouse, did some modifications to the design, such as better cable management. Improved the airflow (even though the case is pretty open). Better angling and so on.

The design is pretty minimalistic, kinda resembling Mac's design in some manners.

So please, give me your thoughts.

I love it. The single bent frame is very nice. All it needs is a single bent piece of plex to wrap the bottom/side/top and you have a very classy case. Also, it looks relatively painless to make. :)

You could also just make a nice cover, smaller than the case, to fit 'inside', to clean up the hardware.

    This.

I wonder where you could have got that idea ;)

I like it. The Cabe-style assembly should be used more often.

I wanted to make the planning as correct as possible so I wouldn't run into too many surprises when actually building it.

Do you guys think I should water cool the whole thing?

I've been reading a lot about it lately and it seems to be the best way to go on a system such as this.

I do use the computer for long 3D renders and a shitton of gaming. So cool temperatures are something to consider. But getting the parts here is kind of a hassle, especially because I've never done it myself (water cooling).

Oh, I'm using a CoolerMaster V8 on the CPU and the GPU uses the factory heatsink, it's a GTX 470.

So tell me guys, what are the pros/cons on that?

If you can make the case to as high a quality as the renders, then watercooling will be a walk in the park. As to whether or not you should do it, you wont need it to do the tasks you've outlined. And you wont need it to run your pc all day. You will need it if you plan some serious overclocking. But then again water cooled systems can be made to look, well, cool. So you can include it just for fun.
