Retro...ish! Thought I would get involved in the forum and start a thread...since having to do a full re-install of windows I hadn't got round to installing many games, but I started with BFBC2, and Mirrors Edge, and my god did I forget how beautiful Mirrors Edge was! Heres a screeny!

So basically, post some of the classic games that you've spent hours enjoying. pictures, stories whatever!

I'll Start mirrors edge... I don't think I'll be able to go on a subway system without being scared again! The chapters with the trains shint me up! Anybody else feel this? Or is it just me!

    Anywho get posting!

I doubt any of you have played or even heard of War Rock, It's a free to play FPS and it used to be great fun about 4 years ago. This screenshot was just perfect timing; i had thrown a grenade onto a platform above and got a triple kill, so i went to take a ss of it and all 3 players dropped down in front of me as i did. :hehe:

It's a shame that this game was ruined by hackers etc. It really was great fun when it first came out and was the game that got me into fps on the pc.

war rock was quite special. The gameplay was weird but the concept was cool

edit: nvm that's not what I played at all.... What was the free FPS that was inspired by UT and Quake ?

    edit2: It was Warsow !

Have to say my favourite would be Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix

First FPS I properly played online. Spent many nights playing this and even got the wife playing it too. Although it was probably a good thing it died when it did, she was getting too good!

    Agree with both those statements.

Also, I think the first game i got "addicted" too (as in, played loads) when I was younger featured these two:

Bonus points if you can not only name the game from the top of your head, but most of the quotes those two came up with :p

Wow, some good memories there! Especially the Unreal Tournament (sometimes referred to as UT99) screenshots. Many, many years spent on that playing instagib. :)

You guys are too young with your fancy graphics and games from the 1990s. The real classics came from the early 1980s and some of the best games had no graphics at all, just a top notch story and adventure.

One of my favourites was Lords of Time (1983), which was one of the first cross-platform games, that I remember. I forget which platform was the original release but I had it on the BBC Micro.

    Oh, here's a "screenie"

What I do remember is that Elite was originally developed for the BBC Micro (1984) and later ported to other platforms. It also came with a novella - The Dark Wheel. How many games do that nowadays?

    Greetings!
    Eheh! ;)

I think that was from the last mission.
Mothership was under attack and the Cruisers were arriving from another battle to defend her. Dont remember what the Stealth fighters were doing.
