I've just got a BIX2 (thanks 'needmorestuff') but I haven't got any screws to attach my fans with and want to make sure I use the right ones.

What type do I need and can I get them from B&Q or somewhere like that?

    Thanks

i used M4x60mm screws from b&q to attach the fan and shroud to my rad. of course i had to tap out the holes with a M4 tap first so there was a thread there for the screw. Or if you dont have a tap you could just use some slelf tapers and ram then in ;)

just make sure you get the right length so as not to hit the fins....

yup, i put an extra nut on the screw first as 60mm is a tad on the long side, 55mm or so would be ideal :)

I can't find M4 screws in B&Q - eveything is numbered. Am I just being stupid?

    /don't be too harsh :)

No you're not. B&Q does not sell M4 x 60 screws. Even Inox Fasteners only goes up to M4 x 50.

What you can get is M4 threaded rods, at up to 1 meter lengths. Just cut them to size, put nuts at either end et voila. It's how I did the shroud/fan arrangement on my BIX in Metaversa. ;)

They don't need to be 60mm, just M4s in general.

Can't think of anywhere High Street, sorry... Unless perhaps a motorcycle shop.

Inox Fasteners will take orders over their website, and I have found them prompt and reliable. Their screws are quality. Unless the problem is that you don't have a credit card, I would highly recommend them instead.
