Before you all me I'd just like to say that i did and that it helped a bit... up until a point and then it just confused me I want to replace the screw/bolts in my Case with the socket variety used in many mods but the sizing is getting me. I'm really hoping that someone will be able to fill in the below bit and maybe help with the descriptions. ie. M3 is 3mm as far as i know... but what is the 6-32 bit all about? and how do you get all of the information. For ease of example heres the web page i'm looking for supply with the options. Heres the site If anyone does feel like filling this in that would be cool! HDD mounting screws - Fdd mounting screws - Mobo mounting screws - PSU mounting screws - Case screws -
You may be able to find the sizes inthe ATX standard at www.formfactors.org Whilst the diameters are standard, I know some of the pitch's are a bit odd.
M3 are metric sizes (Usually quoted as M3 x 0.5, meaning 3mm diameter screw with a 0.5 mm pitch) and 6-32 are imperial sizes (6-32 UNC infact, meaning a number 6 screw with 32 threads per inch). Try these sizes (But note that some manufacturers use metric, Lian-Li case screws are M3 and I have an LG DVD-writer that uses M3 screws) : HDD mounting screws - 6-32 unc Fdd mounting screws - 4-40 unc Mobo mounting screws - im unsure but probably 4-40 unc PSU mounting screws - 6-32 unc Case screws - 6-32 unc Hope this helps
