That seems wrong to me. A 5 disc SCSI CD changer for less than £25? An IDE single CD-ROM costs about that. I suspect that if you place an order for it they will tell you they have made a mistake in the order of 1 decimal place. If they do sell it to you for that price, come back and let us all know!!!
A was discussing something similar with a friend who has a degree in law yesterday - there were some laptops advertised for sale on BestBuyUK for £0.00 can't remember exactly what he said now, but the outcome was that if it was offered for sale for nothing, it would be invalid - but if the price had been nominal then there was a legal reason they should sell it to you for that price. So you can't get something for nothing, but you can get something for £0.01 (or more)
I had a triple CD changer once, I half liked it... It showed as three seperate drives which was quite good, the main downside was that everytime I went to an windows explorer etc. it would have to load each disc in turn to read the label which became a real pain. This might not happen with this one, but just to make you aware...
i was advised against it from a guy on ocs irc last nite and i went and bought myself a domain instead www.bindibadgi.co.uk is officially mine .. when i get the details thru the email..
all looks good to me...i have ordered the drive and the adapter. I just hope that when it comes it includes all neccisary cables / terminators etc.
He was basically saying that his one (IDE changer) had trouble detecting CD's sometimes..... Im sure its nothing to worry about Phil.... Where did you get the domain from in the end Bindi? ukreg or easily
i think youll get a cable with the adapter, dunno bout the terminator (you can connect upto 5 devises on the channel) Let us know what its like if you get one! Dougie suggested Supanames.net and for £56 for 2 yrs ive got 35meg webspace (more then enough for what i need) and domain and lots of stuff that ill prolly never use. (sql/php etc)
No - It's just that everytime you go to windows explorer I had to wait for each disk in turn to load/read vol label/unload to display them in the drives available.... I found it a pain in the arese, and had it unloaded most the time which negates the point of having it...
