   I once long ago bought a maxtor, it arrived with errors, so I RMA'ed it and got a replacement.. that also had errors.
   I think the replacement was a refurbished HD actually, quite a company that was.
   Stupid of seagate to buy them since now seagate is the most iffy HD seller instead of being second worse

   Anecdotally, Maxtor used to be acebest. I've got a 4GB drive 'ere which still works perfectly, not a single bad sector.
