    Hi all,

I'm searching for a Linux Firewall OS which supports static NAT out of the can - eg I don't have to learn how to do it by hand in iptables.

    Cheers ears.

EDIT - Smoothwall Express does it through use of the Full Firewall Control addon. If anyone has any specific recommendations I'd still like to hear them though!

    Have you tried Firestarter?

Wow... I managed to find my password again!

Anyway, look into IPCop, much better then *wall distros IMHO.

Thanks for the suggestions - and its nice to see you back Glider. You probably don't recognise me but I've been here since the start and I know you were a common fixture here for a long time :)

I know IPCop was a fork from earlier Smoothwall (0.99 right?) but as nearest I can tell it doesn't do the outgoing filtering or multiple RED IPs that the FFC addon brings to Smoothwall.

Thanks but I'm after a distro to run as a gateway firewall, not a server-based application.

What I REALLY want is a Cisco PIX or ASA - and I can get a PIX 506 if I wanted it - however I'm hiring a dedicated server and I'm not going to get the extra space or power in the rack I'll need hence looking for a Linux distro equivalent.
