cant beat the feeling of driving with winters on past people who struggle with driving normally. this year will be different. i had to sell my winters because they wont fit on my new motor and i don't have the coin to get a new set. shouldnt be too much of a problem but still...
Cornwall - St.Ives here. Ah hahahahahaha... we have the Atlantic conveyor keeping us warm. On a side note; if it does snow this far south and settle, you guys are in real trouble.
Better get the boots out then if it's snow on the way. Made habbit of walking to work in the cold weather rather than risking the car. Pair of boots and a winter coat means it takes me about 25 mins to walk to work.
Absolutely! I've been treated to a couple of weeks of amazing sunrises and sunsets driving to & from work lately I've had my DSLR with me every day!
no snow, but there was frost in the interior of my taxi to work this morning. second day in a row it's been colder than it is outside, I wonder if i can request they send me a cab that's not just started it's shift. my whole flat was a few degrees cooler this morning though, good for the computers, bad for the snake (but she's buried herself in moss on top of a heat mat and appears fine).
It's not quite that time of year yet here, but this happens every time! All the news channels start their "Storm Watch" or "Storm 2013" or whatever they hype it up to be. Then it snows 2" and everyone crashes their cars in the slush the next day. Repeat 2-3 times a year.
Im confused by this theres all this hype about were in for the worset winter for 100 years, today was the first day ive had to de ice my car an its mid November! Unlesssomething mental happens i cannot see us having a hard winter (I've probably just jinxed it) Ill admit im not the worlds best driver i like sliding round on the handbrake like anyone in the snow but as people have aid if you drive sensibly you can get most places wit ha front wheel drive car. I remember last ear i have my corsa with wide yoko summer tyres on an had no problems with the snow. Also morons who dont take the snow off their roofs do my head in the brake an suddenly get a windscreen covered in snow then panic an have a crash. Thats annoying!
It was just the media jumping on some small time meteorologists tales. The weather you personally can see has almost no predictive power. Maybe with all the MET offices computer and data collections you can have a reasonable guess at the weather in two weeks. As everyone love to complain they often struggle with 5 days though.
Even the Met Office themselves will say, they're really good at forecasting tomorrow's weather, and have a fair chance at forecasting 3-4 days out, but anything further is pure speculation.
Nice clear day down south, I rely on trains, so while i love the snow, and can't wait for it, my hour 30 min commute could double or triple in each direction... fun. Sam
i used to work for a uk division of a canadian firm, the photos we got around winter of the main hq being snowed in were insane.
