There was an LP-670 down near Swiss Cottage on the weekend. He gave it the absolute beans at the lights up the hill towards Hampstead. I'm so glad I was walking down the street as it sounded epic. :D

I saw a nice Merc outside the Foreign Office today. What was particularly nice was that it's a diplomatic car with a personalized number plate: BEL12E

    Nice spot sp4nky! :D

Looks like another 3 diplomatic cars behind and across the road, I bet you stumbled onto a gathering.

It's an impressive car, no question, but never underestimate how much of a factor slicks and a good suspension setup is. Tsukuba is a tight infield circuit with lots of long sweepers and relatively short straights - the perfect place to take advantage of a slick-shod lightweight.

    Saw a few interesting things on my way home tonight;

A white Lotus Evora that I see quite often.
A Smart Roadster Brabus - those things look like they could be great fun.
2 little old ladies pootling along in a new Sirocco, nothing amazing I know, it just never struck me as an old lady car.
A V8 Scania pulling a full load up a slight hill - Oh sweet gods, the sound, it was incredible. Low down, side exit exhaust as well.

Not on the road I know but an AWACS aircraft was circling Nottingham this evening, they don't look right with that big disk on top.

Yup. I am aware of that. The difference between street legal tyres and slicks around Tsukuba is estimated (in the 86 "community") to be around 2 seconds. A good suspension setup makes a huge difference as well.
Still - I'd say that's pretty damn good for a ~240bhp NA car.

What's REALLY impressive is watching the shakedown videos of that thing around Tsukuba. With (as far as I understant) a stock gearbox, that driver gears that thing down like a maniac. And it sounds GREAT while doing it. :D

No matter, though - fact is:
The 86 gets BETTER the longer you drive it, and makes me smile every single time i drive it. Fuel economy isn't bad either for something that's pretty much "happy" around 4500-5500rpm in city traffic (who needs more than 2 gears anyway?)

Absolutely - immensely impressive car for what it is, don't get me wrong. I think 2s is a pretty conservative figure for the difference, watching a TA of a 458 the '86 gets thrown a lot faster into all the corners, but loses time in the acceleration zones (obviously!).

The others seem to be Guyana on the other side of the road, and possibly North Korea behind.

I drive past it every morning, but this morning I was actually on the site so I snapped a picture.

I know it's an old model, I know it's got stupid wheels, but **** it, I want it and I want it now.

Spotted a thinly veiled F-Type Coupe on the A43 this morning, though neglected to snap a photo on account of travelling at 70mph (give or take).

    I kinda want one!

I saw a Tesla S the other day driving down the road. I'll have to upload the pic later. Quite interesting.

Can't say, it was travelling in the opposite direction on a dual carriageway, so only got the top half of it.

I've seen a couple of V6 F-types (both standard and S), yet to see a V8S though. Can't wait til I do, but I'm sure I'll hear it long before I see it :D

The noise from both the V6 models is pornographic - especially on the overrun.

Behind a Ferrari 458 this morning. They look quite nice in white.
Earlier this week I found a driver of a Lotus exige that drives slower than the average Vette driver. -Must be some kind of disease.

Doesn't compare to a street load of Astons, but a Lada Niva 4x4 is quite a rare sight in the city.

    Not a coincidence, since it's a 2006 import. :p

Didn't have time to snap pictures both times, but:
1x Maserati GranCabrio in white. Oh.Em.Gee. It's beautiful
1x Dodge Charger in red. This is remarkable because while we get SOME dodges in Southern Africa, the Charger is not one of them.
