    V6S is pick of the range imo, fast enough with a more interesting engine than the V8, and the exhaust design is less fussy.

    Yes, I think so too but the sound of the V8 R is a little pornographic hypnotic. The V6 S would be my pick too - the mechanical diff (vs e-diff) and less weight at the front end will help it through the longer corners, too.

    Oh well, I'd better start putting pennies in the piggy bank. :D

    Having had a ride in the V6S drop top, I can tell you that that engine has a bloody gorgeous sound. It's anything but quiet, even when starting, idling or just driving calmly. People WILL hear you and take note. Fuel injection into the exhausts on up and downshifts means that it pops and burbles all the damn time.

    What really makes this engine sound GREAT, though, is gearing down into high revs. My GOD that thing howls. And so melodically. It's beautiful.

    In terms of V8, I have a hard time imagining anyone coming close to the american warble, the AMG thunder or the BMW howl, and as such, the Jag already seems less attractive in that guise to me. Also - at no point can anyone feel that the V6S is slow or down on power. It wriggles hips the moment you look at the happy pedal.

    The V6S is pretty much the ONLY choice.

    That S660 is Kei based though, meaning it probably won't make it out of Asia.

    I saw my 1st BMW i3 in the wild today. I used to think it was a bit crap but the more I read about it the more it turns my head. I found this review which breaks it down and as far as I can tell it's a European take on the Tesla Model S.

    Not exactly on the road but....

    Thoughts? I love some of the design elements and the 510 inspiration, but I think it still needs tweaking. Something isn't quite right.

    That Nissan iDX (or whatever it's called - the normal one is called Freeflow) concept is Nissan's conceptual answer to the GT86. Nissan's boss famously called the GT86 a "midlife crisis" car.

    Besides all the conceptual stuff on that car, I think it COULD work, but with the smaller engines (rumors are 1.2L, 1.5L and a 1.6 Turbo on the Nismo model - pictured there), and the target of "Low costs, aimed at the youth" (read between the lines in Nissan's unveiling speech, you know "Z-Platform is too expensive" and such), I see these thing POTENTIALLY having power/weight issues. IF they have to meet western crash tests, that is.

    I am (as a VERY happy owner of a GT86) very biased though.

    On topic: A mate of mine pulled his grandfather's Series 1 Jag XJ6 out of the garage. Still trying to figure out year and exact model (engine was replaced with a 5.odd L Ford V8 at some point), but yeah... that's pretty cool.

    Wow, this thread died a death at the end of 2013! Resurrection time I think! Nothing exotic or very sporty from me I'm afraid, as usual. Supercars really are rare as hen's teeth over here :(

    I parked near a nice white Sainz in a local shopping centre car park on Christmas Eve. Don't see many of these on the road here and this one was quite nice, except for the Halford-esque wheels:

    I've also been seeing this nice Seat fairly often, parked across the road from the school avenue entrance during the week. I particularly like the alloys... There's a big e-cookie and some rep for anyone who can tell me what they are! I left it original size so you can see them clearly:

    It really did, Unicorn. I saw the following two on a stroll to a post office;

    They might not be especially rare, but still. I liked 'em.

    This I took because I thought they'd all been burned;

    Seen a Mclaren P1 on the M25 (before it was released). It looks so far removed on the road, like its come from a different planet. Looks insane.

    I had the Ferrari FF (same one I saw the other day) pull up next to me at a traffic light, give me a thumbs up for my choice in car, and then the driver put his right foot flat on the floor.
    The soundtrack was remarkable.

    I also say a 911 Carrera 4S the other day. They're quite rare here.
