In Wellington this morning, saw a Volvo Amazon, in what appeared to be good condition. What made it notable to me is how small this old, "big" car is and especially narrower than modern lard-arsed cars.

Technically not the road but its tarmac, EE lighting getting a wash at Cranfield. Think the airframes ran out of miles but it still gets lobbed down the runway sometimes.

Wouldn't say no to one of those Zero bikes... but living in a 15th floor flat means a f***in' long charging cable.

A few weeks back, but forgot to post at the time!

Fully race spec, roll cage and all. Made an almighty noise pulling out the garage.

There's a lot of wealth where our offices are. The proprietor himself has a few cars, among them a Tesla S and a 911--which on this occasion he parked outside the front entrance of the building. The Bentley and McLaren were outside other offices just a few steps along the road.

Is that a McLaren of some sort...? Happy to forego whatever cred. I may have amassed here for not knowing... but the bonnet badge seems to look "Woking sourced".

Seen and driven (on track for too few laps):

It goes well in a straight line, gets a bit twitchy in corners, feels heavier than it looks, and the brakes were not great to my feeling. In short:
A polar opposite to my 86, in that this is much more of a point and squirt car, where the 86 is a momentum car.
This IS quicker than the 86, though...

The new B58 engine is an engineering and packaging masterpiece. Thank you BMW for keeping the straight 6 alive.

    Yup.
I saw that teardown the other day. Seems like a fantastic piece of kit, and I have seen guys claiming to have done well over 400kw on not too many new parts from that engine.
I (having never driven an old Supra either) was expecting the Supra to be a bit more akin to the 86 than it is, though. A bit easier to place, a bit lighter on thee feet.
It feels like everything is done with pure force.

My friend had 2 Mk4 supras, one n/a targa and a tt. They felt heavy from the passenger seat, very much a point and squirt deal, although did ok in the brecons.

well, from the passenger and the driver seat, "point and squirt" sounds about right.
Though on a race track (and one you don't know), it's kinda hard to take any real impressions of a car.

Was that actually water-logged and abandoned?

There doesn't look like there's any more than 6" of water there!

The water may have been deeper earlier and many drive to fast through minor floods, splashing too much water up into the engine bay.
