    ^ This. Diesels are about torque, not bhp, and they're the only way you can hope to get even remotely acceptable mileage from that monstrosity. As they say, "it's a lot of awful car for the money." The Q7 is particularly offensive as it's only a few kilos from upsetting the planet's rotational axis but is reputedly also absolutely useless off-road, as well as wallowy and unpleasant on-road.

    Not to rain on your parade, but that has to be one of the worst-developed cars of all time. The chassis project leader, Andy Kitson, was quoted in evo saying that;

    He also describes the development cars as 'lumbering' with 'no finesse or agility at all', which considering he designed them is a pretty damning indictment. It's a shame, but that's MG Rover for you... :sigh:

    They did turn into the UK's equivalent of the Lada at the end.

    Then imagine a Lada with a 4.6L V8. That would be, as Jeremy Clarkson would say, a wild ride.

    For four door performance cars, there are really no other than the Germans. (And maybe Jaguar, but they are slightly German nowadays, aren't they?)

    Also a little bit Indian.

    I can't wait to see fat, badly dressed Indian gangsters rolling around in Jaguars now.

    Without getting into the whole "what happened to MGRover" thing, which would take centuries and has already been done countless time (mostly by MGR enthusiasts!)...

    They were certainly underdeveloped, the V8 versions more so as they used an aging engine and hacked a FF chassis into a FR chassis. However, having had a 2.5V6 Rover 75 for the last few years, its a platform that certainly beats most of it's contemporaries trim and ride wise and compares well performance wise too. The 75/ZT were very good cars considering how low the available development budget was

    A question of pollution. I bet you can easily get loads more power from those engines but they won't pass emissions. The same thing that killed off the Toyota 2ZZGE and the K20 Honda engines in Europe...lots of power per litre but high CO output.

    My brother had the opportunity to work on a new 2010 accord and CRZ hybrid for Honda Canada for the auto show. I do have some pictures. Not anything "crazy" but it's not your standard accord either. Consisted of lowering kit, rims, tires, exhaust, stereo, racing seats, gauges, racing buckle harness, new shift boot and knob, new peddles, lip kit, flat / matt white paint with matt black roof and matt carbon fibre hood and trunk. Looked really sharp. I'll share once I get pics uploaded at home!

    CRZ is pretty much the same, but I think the accord looks better.

    Truck loads of nice bikes out on the roads today, seems the sun brought the bikers out of hibernation early.

    Pretty sure 50% of the bikes I saw were lime green Ninjas though.
