If the saturn controller is as widely compatible and reliable as the XBOX controller, I might be tempted...

I'd just play the original via the Gens Mega Drive emulator for free.

What if you own both the system and the game yourself but would rather play on an emulator rather than shuffle through boxes in the attic to setup that beast?

Plus emulation allows improved graphics, tweaks, save current state (i.e. save anywhere), etc. Just don't pirate the game.

Or... You can play Sonic Mega Collection. It exists for PC, Xbox, Playstation 2 and Gamecube. You can still get the game on eBay for a cheap price.

As for me... I really like playing Sonic Jam on my old trusty Sega Saturn.
