Hey all, My macbook is a victim of itself! I took it out of its little jacket this morning to find that part of the keyboard cover is chipping away revealing the macbook's delicate insides! I've booked an appointment with the Apple Genius Bar tommorrow for them to look my little friend over, but I was wondering wether this will be a send-away job, or wether they'll be able to replace it instore? I have got an important university project coming up and need the macbook for work! Should I just glue it? My applecare runs out in 3 days and I just don't have the money to buy applecare extensions!
That looks like a send off job to me. Requires a bit of work to change the plastic trim. Voting get it fixed. On my Powerbook I'd just glue it, but I've got a GhettoBook.
i think alot of people are now expericencing this type of problems on their mac books now! i am starting to doubt apples quality control and testing on their newer products!
Well I've taken it to the apple store in bluewater, and they're going to ring me when the part comes in and they will fit it in-store. Just a matter of waiting now...
Another Update: Devenforce is right. I inadvertently bought an Emo-book. It's now decided it's suicidal, as well as self harming. The macbook refuses to acknowledge the existence of its battery and won't charge it either; and will only work from the charger. The plastic bit hanging loose has snapped off, and I swear I could hear it telling me to spray-paint it black. But seriously. No battery powered portability now
