I have no plans to sell my graphics cards yet, but I was a bit curious about it come upgrade time.

Would peoople recommend selling the gpu's with the waterblocks as one unit, or is there a way / is it better to return them to their stock coolers?

Also how will this influence their resale value?

you'll probably sell them faster with the stock cooler. most people don't do water and finding someone that already has water that wants the particular card will be less likely.
i've mostly come to the conclusion that water cooling gpu blocks is a cost with small chance of return when done with it. so i've not upgraded so often anymore, since i can oc higher gpu are useful for longer. also from some personal experience, i've been trying to sell my hd4850 w/ ek full cover for about a month. i don't have the stock cooler for it and its been a sore point.

if you sell them on here your pretty much going to get two thirds of what you paid for the card, and two thirds of what you paid for the block, assuming you where to sell them now of course, really I don't think it makes much of a difference on here if you sell with or without the block, although I suspect you may get more interest if you where to refit the stock cooler, its what I'm gonna do when I come to sell my 580's

The problem is is people who are into water cooling do it for top end performance generally so won't want a two gen old card.
The normal market for older cards is budget builders who aren't interested as water cooling defiantly isn't budget.
Basically means a water block only older card has to be dirt cheap so someone who wants to try water cooling for fun will pick it up.
