I am thinking of selling my old computer and I need some advice on how much my computer is worth. The specifications are: Liquid cooling (graphics cards and cpu) 750W PSU 2x EVGA 8800GTS acs3 ko EVGA 790I ultra sli motherboard Q6600 (@3.6ghz) 4GB OCZ RAM 2x 1TB spinpoint HDDs thanks.
what make/model is your PSU? And are you graphics cards 320 or 640MB? I'd hazard a guess that it's worth around £450 The spinpoints are probably worth £25 each, considering you can buy the 1tb f3 new for around £45 depending on the ram speed, could be £40-£70, I presume it's DDR3 based on your motherboard The motherboard itself was probably around £150 new so 70-80 for that I think 2nd hand Q6600's go for around £80 The graphics cards could be £50-£60 depending on the ram Depending on the quality and current price of the PSU, I'd cut the value in half at least if it's been heavily used. Liquid cooling and working overclock should add quite a bit to the value.
The psu is made by Corsair and the graphics cards are 640MB. The ram is OCZ3 P2000 2G. Hope some one would buy before xmas.
Split it up and sell the parts, for every one person who wants this PC, you will find 1000 who want you WC blocks, RAM , HD, CPU etc.. Just take it apart give it a good clean, take some nice photos and pop it on ebay. Loads of people will have crimbo money next week so list to finish just after Christmas.
Indeed, 2nd hand PCs rarely sell for more than their value as components, sometimes the difference can be quite a bit...
