(Serial ATA) Think of all the possibilities

    Think of how much room can be saved in all of our modded cases with Serial ATA cables running through them instead of regular IDE OR SCSI cables. . .

    I would like to hear some opinions on the subject of (Serial ATA)

    they look great, but no one makes serial ata hdd's or optical drives:sigh:. so all the space that youd save with the smaller wires would be taken up with serial ata to ide converter cards.

    NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO I just bouhgt a new Maxtor Dimond Max 9 in IDE and my mobo has onboard seial ata 133 too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:wallbash:

    Does anyone know if they are planning to put out SATA optical drives? I thought I heard somewhere that it was hdd only.

    lol yeah, this is cool im gonna try it :) i broke an ide cable yesterday anyway so i need a spare one, ill try this SATA agin now :)

    Optical drives are due next year.

    If you need cables, power adapters or a controller, just ask me cos my prices are unbeatable ;)

    I was actually wondering when optical drives were coming out also and thanks to Bradford010 I now know when they are coming out.:D :D :D
