Me and my mom both have the same mobo, cpu, ram, and wireless adapters. We are both running a fresh install of Windows XP SP3 32-bit. We have had decent wifi signals and connections. 48-54bmps. All of a sudden I have 1 mbps and now she connects but cant access the internet, aim, skype, or anything else. We haven't moved the router modem or our computers/wireless antennas.

Seems like something you may not be able to help with. I googled up the problem and got a million different ways to fix it but nothing has worked.

Reinstalled the router and both wireless adapters. connected both pcs to the modem one at a time and got exceptional LAN speeds.

Any help would be great. Thanks for reading.

EDIT: It's a Netgear WGR614v9. And the modem is a cable modem supplied by my ISP (comcast). (Tigerdirect product # N100-1472)
and the wireless adapters are Trendnet TEW-423PI wireless G PCI adapters. (Tigerdirect product # T156-2114)

Most likely congestion on the default channel of the router, might be worth changing it.

Goto 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1 failing that try 192.168.1.100 you should get the netgear admin interface up, the login details should be printed on the bottom of the router or with your comcast paperwork.
