Seriously thinking of buying a bar....(updated 13/11/05)

Hi all,
I guess a party is due!!!!
I know this is all pretty premature, but;
My girlfriend and i have been fantasizing about opening a bar for quite some time now, and finally 2 days ago we went to ask around for the avaliability of bars in the small town we live.

Quess what! One of them is quite nice and not overly expensive (probably because of the wierd layout). It has a small (VERY) "shots" bar downstairs, at street level, with upstairs a humunguse (SP) terrace with to bars, pool table bla dee bla.

Of to the bank tomorrow to see how cooperative they are...

(Depending on the talk tomorrow, pictures are due)

PS. if push comes to shove, everyone's invited for the opening. I'm sure sleeping can be arranged...

Otherwise; good luck, just be careful you don't buy some place which is impossible to make any money from.

 

Not such a duh question, AFAIK vetlel is in the Netherlands. A long way to go for a pint of funny-tasting beer.

I am dutch, my gf is russian, and we've lived in Spain for some time now (hence location: the beach... )

Guess an update is due:

- The bank went ok, a bit of a hassle, because we initially thought we needed more money. At this time we've managed to get alll the neccessary funds (from various places, but still...)

- We managed to get something of the price, which is always nice. But on top of that, they didn't mind getting paid in 2 parts, which leaves us with a bit of breathing space (money) for the building works we plan on doing.

- Small bit of info on the licensing laws in spain: the buildings here are licensed for a certain type of trade. In other words, you don't need to know jack **** about "the bar biznizz" to open a bar. All you have to do is get your hands on the right building. Now for the good news: this property is licensed as a "Bar musical" which gives you opening hours untill 3:00AM and not as a "cafeteria" which means you have to close at 1:00 AM.

- Photo's are due tonight, my gf is prob going there. Don't get scared though, there is A LOT to do before it looks the way it can look. Mind please, we always looked at the location of the place and the floor space avialable, not neccessarily how it looks now.

Now something you guys might be able to help with, A Name??? Man, have we come up with some stupid names, and still nothing really apealling.
So show me what you got!!!!

-Some guidlines for the naming convention:
1.) Spanish peopple are not very computer savvy. Leet and derivatives are lost to people here
2.) Please no Cock and Hen type of names. It is to be a bar not a pub...
