hope it's not a repost: http://www.iol.ie/~thedeans/reversemod/index.html (other one: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?p=749286)
I can not believe you did such a thing to a case of such potential and possibility. Tall server cases like that are great for sweet mods. I would have gladly taken it off your hands. My recommendation is to gather up all the case parts, and mod yourself a work of computing art, not a place for paper storage.
Wow, the attitudes. To each his own...there's nothing wrong with making a book case. Those old cases are cheap and easy to get ahold of. Using one for something other than a computer is great. I would paint it though.
i cant beleve it thats one of the most useless mods iv ever seen that case was excelent for modding and water cooling and he/you could have made 120mm fans etc i think thats a HUGE waste of an excelent case
It is cool. I dont see how people cna stand having a case that tall - I am all for cases as small as possible. Maybe its just because my case is under the desk where height is limited?
Sometimes, I use my server case as an exstension of my desk. IMO, the case is stupid as a bookcase. I wouldn't be caught dead with that in my bedroom. Just get a nice little bookcase from Ikea or something.
When height is a problem, lift your desk. And no, I'm not mad, take a look at this pic. I've used a piece of wood (light brown) to lift my desk (dark brown). http://members.lycos.co.uk/herdkilling/case/torre2.jpg
I like it, people make it sound like its a strike against modding to do anything besides pimp out an old server case. I like the idea and it would make a nice book case for a college dorm or what not.
I would but it'd be bloody heavy! I have a slightly smaller version of that case, which is pretty good too (as far a biege server cases go) and it weighs a tonne.
