I like how this forum can have two or more threads on one topic and none of us seem to care Most commonly with news threads, but anything's fair game.
But the other thread was about the midnight downtime, and is now not even remotely about that issue any more I too have been getting locked out lots more than usual.
I don't remember it being about that when I typed it, maybe re-read my OP TL;DR we're getting a new forum server soon.
No worries, I know which one you mean as I had to search to make sure I wasn't duplicating Something that our esteemed friend fuus should have done, although in fairness this is a rant and mine was feedback.
Been having it more then usual as of lately normally it's at 12 recently it's been happening all over the place
Guys, seriously read through the other thread here and you will see that the server hosting the forum is slowly dying, and will be replaced at some point in the (hopefully near) future. By all means continue to report the outages here if you feel it necessary, just as long as you do so in the knowledge that it's already been acknowledged by other forumites, mods, staff and ex-staff alike and is scheduled to be rectified in due course.

I haven't been here enough recently to notice. Not sure whether to be happy, sad or indifferent about that. Any time I've had for Internets lately has been spent on Detailing World because it's "give a damn about keeping your daily drive clean again" season... again, and the GT4OC, GT4DC, 6gc.net etc because there are some nice projects going on at the moment which I've been following. Handily most are available on Tapatalk. Except 6gc because they're 'Murican and the forum is probably run by someone who wonders why people talk about the intelligence level of phones these days. Smart phone? Whassat? >.> I'm kidding about the whole 6gc thing though, really. It's a well run site but it's run by one guy on a shoestring who pretty much runs the site at a loss and can't afford to upgrade to a new version of iPboard or vBulletin to work with Tapatalk. Anyway, back OT So, new server, huh? Does this mean that the backup will no longer take an hour and render the forum database useless (literally) at 00:20 every night without fail, right after I've hit the submit button on a massive long post that took me 20 minutes to write, proof read, spell check then reword?
Since the "other" thread has been closed due to a slight de-rail of topic, I'll post here. Few days ago "server busy" wasn't uncommon every few minutes, it's now down too once or twice an hour if I'm unlucky. Horrid rumours bouncing around that the end of Bit-tech is nigh. I've tried other forums but I still gravitate back to Bit. It's like a home town, you know where everything is and where not to go..
but that would limit to your choice to only those keyboards named in my signature, and you wouldn't get a look in at the potential hidden beauties....
