Ive got an older HP server that at work we are using as a utility server.

In the past it has had teaming set up but has always been broken.

Ive just updated the drivers for both NICS and the HP config software but still getting this issue (see screen shot) when I try to create a new team with the two cards.

Any suggestions on how to get around this? if i can....

    Thanks in advance!

    Paul

Have you tried older driver versions?

Do you not have to use identical pairs of NICs for teaming?

We tried the original drivers and drivers that were a couple of revisions old and still no go.

Atomic - we have 7 other hp servers all of which are teaming with different nics so im pretty sure this is not the issue.

It could be an issue with these paticular NIC's, do any of the other servers team with these two cards? (are they two cards, or is one an on board?) you could try changing out a NIC from one of the other servers (as long as they're different?)

You don't have Jumbo Frames enabled on the gigabit NIC do you? If so that may be confusing the setup. I've never setup a team with a 10/100 and a gigabit connection, only two 10/100 or two gigabits, so I'm not sure whether that works.

The 10/100 is onboard and the gigabit is addin.

with the other servers all cards are gigabit cards, they just dont all have gigabit network blades to plug into, so maybe its just that....

No idea - its working with no teaming - just like that added bit of security knowing it will always be contactable on one addres..
    Thanks for your help
