Just downloaded SETI and thought i would give my services to my favourite modding site.....so i just joined the Bit SETI team.

Trying to find Seti Linux guides was trickier than I thought it would be.

How many WUs are you doing a day? I'm getting about 18-22 a day.

If I may offer a suggestion.
Check out www.setiatwork.com they got a really cool tracking/stats setup going. all you do is message them to start it for your team

I'm real happy, I OCed my XP 1900 from 1.6 ghz to 1.7 ghz and my time for 1 WU dropped from 4 hrs to 3 hrs.

To bad I only have one computer.

 

i finally found setigate!! horrah!! as i only have one machine on the net (long story) i wasnt really pushing the limits of speed (4 WU since 22 march), however, now i can transfer WUs to my room!! yay.. sooo.. i now have

an 800mhz duron w/256mb ram
P3 450mhz w/192mb ram
2200+ @ 2000(ish)mhz w/512mb @ DDR458
P2 366mhz lappy w/192mb ram
P3 800mhz w/384mb ram
and, by may 1st.. a dual 2200+ MPX w/256mb ram *getting 2GB and dual mobile bartons in the summer if all goes well money wise*

that little lot should get a good amount of WU crunching done.
im also amazed... i have a 4:03 avg. WU time... crazy.

im mainly in this to play catch up, or even get near my friend and his 9800 wu's

anywho, just felt i needed to mention im now involved and crunching for team bit-tech!

horrah. first day of properly going.. got 9 WUs done.

the lappy is estimated 17 hours, where the 2200+ pulls it off in 2hours 45min

I'm planning on "redirecting" my WU's over to BitTech soon....

Also planning on getting some branded PC3200 memory as soon as an afford it so that I can o/c my XP2600, and bring my crunching times down too.

I'm getting something like 3 hours per unit ATM, but when I temporarily o/c'd my rig a few months ago, it was churning 'em out every 2 hours or so

 

Yay, ive started my Seti again ... so ill be boosting up my 2 WU's

i was 109th i think in the Bit-tech listing..lol

As of now (27-April-03 .. 3:23pm(or a little earlier)) i will be running it on a pIII 800mhz, 384mb ram IBM a21m laptop that i have on my desk doing nothing !


also is there a page that tells you how to update your seti sig? its time to re-add mine !

Lol, I should get the prize for obtaining the longest time for working on a work unit. My user name is "Chunyi" ,and as of writing this it is currently ranked 115.

Note: This is on my main computer - waiting for the beginning of next year to upgrade my computer for college.

Yeh i do. I cant join the group, n i all ready have 1 data packet done 4 u guys. My comp dont get em done v. fast due to me playing lots of games n the CPU only been a 2400+. I should b back on my OCed 2500+ soon, n that will b even more OCed by the end of summer if i get time to do my case mod and water cooling setup!
