Okay, this will be my first time setting up a WC system. I want to keep it simple so I will only be cooling my CPU!

These are the parts I have chosen, tell me what you think.

    CPU Block - PolarFLO TT (2 x 1/2" barbs)

Radiator - Black Ice Extreme (120mm w/ 1/2" barb fittings)

Radiator Fan - Coolermaster UV Blue 120mm
    [IMG]

Resevoir - Tundra (Dual 3.5" bay)

Tubing - PrimoFlex PVC UV Blue (1/2" ID)

    Pump - PolarFLO TT 350 (12v)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Am I forgetting anything?

I don't like that res. and the pump might not be enough for your cpu block.

Sounds ok, your kit is your own personal preference......

Should be enough for cooling your cpu alone, thats the thing with modilar watercooling, you can add to it with different components as you go along and feel more confident with it.

Doesnt that pump have 3/8" fittings?? You will need to use adapters if you buy it, but your better of trying to keep everything 1/2".

I thought that pump would good for most setups:

Oh and you better convert those images to links or host them yourself.

If Im only cooling the CPU, is 1/2" ID tubing overkill?

that pump is enough for ANY setups, I have one -- very impressed! amost totaly quite and no heat!! for the first time ever I can close my case without overheating!! its the first real PC pump I've seen.

its has 3/8" fittings but I just put some 3/8" tube (about 1" on and put some 1/2" ID over it - works fine)

Looks OK, but as other people said the pump barbs are 3/8 and everything else is 1/2. I also agree about the res - the acrylic bayres ones are not recommended.
One more thing, I would go with a block that has more clearance around the barbs - swiftech 6000/6002 - putting clamps may not be easy.

That pump is very good - particularly for size. It has an astounding amount of head thus pumps through a lot of restriction even if it is natively 3/8".

No more so than others. The C-Systems pump takes 1/4NPT thread so there's restriction there too.

However it is possible to make a new housing for the pump to suit. Watercool.de do one in plexi, but thats G1/4 thread

Alternatively you could go with 3/8" ID tubing. There really is not that much difference compared to 1/2" ID tubing.

Was it really true that the first guy who posted that view on procooling was found under a bridge hung by a lenght of Tygon? :naughty:

3/8" it is. Probably much cheaper too.
