Has the world's longest domain name wrangle finally come to an end? ;)

A recent appeal on the verdict of the initial sex.com case (back in '02) was lost by ex-lag, domain thief, porn baron, casino entrepreneur and construction mogul Stephen Cohen. He now has to stiff up a large sum of money to the original owner, according to Vulture central.

Stephen Cohen has lost an appeal against a ruling that he must pay $65 million to Gary Kremen, the man who registered sex.com, reports USA Today. Cohen stole the domain name in 1995 and used it to front a lucrative porn business.

Kremen, of San Francisco, originally registered the name in 1994. But Cohen, an ex-convict, took the name from Kremen the following year by sending a forged letter of transfer to Network Solutions (which subsequently became part of VeriSign).

I don't agree at all with these back door shennanigans. Thank goodness for the flash of commonsense that led to this bone of contention finally being laid to rest. Now it just remains to stick it to Stephen Cohen and actually squeeze that wad of cash out of him. I only hope that Gary Kremen's bank account is big enough to take it all.

He forged a document, couldn't he be serving some jailtime as well?

Nowdays registrars have domains locked down so tight that it is a challange for ME to change stuff around, much less anyone else :D
