    title say it all really

im looking for a good all in 1 PC for a client that is similar to an iMac. he pretty familiar with windows and some programs that he may use are windows ONLY.

havent looked much in to this area recently but im sure there are products out there. Price wise im not fussed if its better than a imac then im happy for it to be more.

(PS - please dont reply with buy an iMac)

I think Asus might do some machines along those lines (The Computex 2011 images certainly showed some), i'm not sure about other manufacturers, Dell probably do, considering it'd be a reasonably money-spinner.

Beyond that I'd be dubious of anything like that anyway, still good luck in your quest for a non-mac in a mac design!

    EDIT: Something like this, perhaps?

Most "All in one" pc's that i've seen have all been touch screens, which are fairly expensive?

TBH I have to say that iMacs are the best value for performance as far as all in ones go. You can put windows on a mac in the virtual sandbox built in to the mac operating system but I can't see you getting better performance for that price from a windows based alternative.

You can get all in 1 touch screen windows PCs fairly cheap now. They may not be great spec wise, but for an office or simple home use they should be fine. My dad recently bought a Packard Bell one for about £900 (although it recently dropped to more like £700) and it seems fine. All i know about it is that it's 22" screen, Intel i3 processor, 6GB RAM and seems to run as much as he would ever want to do (the internet, Google Earth, Word, Excell, Internet TV...) with ease. Also seems to have a pretty decent quality screen and nice sound system. Came with a huge load of crapware, but 20 minute alone with it and i'd sorted that out.

If its just a case of using windows only programs. WINE or dual boot with windows on the iMac? Sorry for saying iMac even though you said not to but that solves the issue if that's the only one tbh?

    Or something like this?

Think there is smaller screen version of the sony.

Next 6 weeks-3 months I think as they only just made the first batch for the show. :(

I asked about higher res for 27"ers as well btw and apparently the price hike on anything above 1080p is MASSIVE, thus, unsellable :( We want it, the panel companies just don't sell it.

will people stop saying get a iMac and boot windows :read:

i was looking for an imac alternative and the dell one looks ok but the asus one "seems" better but i dont think ill be waiting 3 months !!!

It depends though as he may want to do some encoding and if thats the case im not recommending a slow ass imac or all in one PC

ill just build a SB system with a 24-27" sexy screen.
