I've just seen on sci-fi.com that Farscapes Ben Browder (Chrichton) will become a regular character in season 9. Claudia Black is also supposed to be in a 5 story arc reprising her role of Vala. Although it is not Known if O'neil will be back for the new season.
there tryign to keep oneil in some position, even if very small! If they "could" pull off no anderson, and a new char, i think its very good news for the stargate universe. Up until atlantis it was considered anderson was holding audiences. Atlantis has thus far disproved this somewhat. could SG1 do it ? im sceptical! though series 8 has minimal oneill, and its still kicking ass!
See, I had no idea that the lady from the latest episode was a character from another series! Now I bloody well have to see every single episode of Farscape just so I know what she (and the other dude) are all about.
There's a lot of crossover in Scifi/Fantasy tv. Both Michael Shanks (Stargate's Daniel Jackson) & James Marsters (Spike on Buffy/Angel) have appeared in Andromeda. Michael Dorn (Worf on ST:TNG) is currently on Duck Dodgers. The guy who plays the doctor on Enterprise has been on Stargate at least twice. George Takei (Star Trek's Sulu) keeps showing up on the Simpsons Walter Koenig (Star Trek's Chekov) played Bester the Psi-Cop on Babylon 5 Richard Herd (the lead alien in V) played an admiral on both Seaquest & Enterprise There are countless more, but that's what bubbled to the surface as I was reading this.
The characters are different, just the same actors: Ben Browder played Chrichton on Farscape and will play a lieutenant colonel (we don't know the name yet) in SG1; Claudia Black played Aeryn Sun in Farscape and plays Vala in SG1 (she was in the episode shown last week on sky one where she stole the Promethius). Still worth checking out Farscape though, it was a fantastic series.
http://www.gateworld.net/news/2004/12/wrightrevealsbrowderseason.shtml http://www.gateworld.net/news/2004/12/benbrowderjoinsistargatesg.shtml it all depends on how they write his character tbh, the best thing about Chricton was that he was slightly insane made for a great character pity about o'neill/anderson leaving tho he rocks!
