The only easy way I can think of is to make a small program in VB or something to do it if you know a bit of programming. The only other way I can think of would be to use network logins to store the favourites on your central PC but it's a lot of trouble to go to for such a simple problem.

I'm sure there's an easier way to do it that someone more intelligent than me will think of though!

Can't you share the actual directory containing the favourites on your main PC so it is available to everyone on the network. Then point the IEs on the other PCs to the remote favourite folders? Dunno if you can actually change that in IE though, might be worth a try.

Yeah I thought about that but did't think you can change the IE favourite path, but after having another think you can probably use TweakIE or some registry hack to change it. Only problem is it might get a bit bitchy at you when the shared folder isn't available (eg. when you're using the laptop elsewhere).

Would be a pain to change the path each time.

Part of my shut-down backup system is to copy all the new additions to the /Favorites folder over to another drive using a bat file (XXCopy, new & changed files only). You can also set XXCopy to only copy files that don't exist at the receiving end.

Should be possible to set up a couple of bat files on each machine to copy the new links they have in /Favorites to a central point, and transfer the other machines' new ones back? Like synchronising two folders.

Now I need a system that would work with Firebird's single HTML file... :sigh:

I wanted to do this a while back but couldn't find a way so instead I set up a small webserver program (you could use IIS if you are using XP Pro or Analog X's small prog.) I made a page with all the sites I regularly visit and set the webserver to redirect to that. Then all you have to do is go type the host pc in your browser and you will have a list of all your favourite sites - you could set it as your homepage.
