You could be very surprised, there is a market for these 'things', far away from Gillette's security fences. You must see by youself, if cannot show you the path.

Executive Shaving carry a reasonable range of straight razors, disposable straight razors (SR bodies that you put the DE razor in), DE razors, soaps, brushes, and all the other shaving sundries.

It is easy to get carried away, though, I've spend hundreds with them >.>

..Although I've just seen you're in the Canadian Wilderness, perhaps Art of Manliness has decent shop links - Although Amazon carries a lot of it too.

Lots to read! i might give a soap a go

Im generally doing all thats suggested

Hot shower for soft hair and skin, slightly wet face when applying shaving foam/gel and multiple passes with a new clean blade

Only thing i can think is the type of gel or foam im using

Right, this is what I was talking about. I used a different brand but the concept is the same.

Man you all must have sensitive skin, I dry shave, in fact I have never used shaving cream, and sometimes when I don't have my trimmers on me I take off anywhere from 1/2-2/3" of hair with a standard 3 blade Gillette.

Never had an issue with razor burn/bumps/rash/etc

The larger Boots still sell the razors (cheap ones --you're better off mail-ordering from one of the web shops or visiting London Selfridges or one of several London male grooming establishments). Boots also sell Wilkinsons DE blades, which are quite good.

some razor burn can be caused by a nickel allergy, so considering both you and your father suffer the same problem I wouldn't put it down to technique/method or product.

Have a look around for a reduced nickel razor blade.

Came back with shaving foam *facepalm*, face is tingling quite badly trying to avoid touching it no sign of red bumpy horrible stuff yet made sure i went with atleast 3 passes

Thats pretty intresting Burnout! i might look into that defianetely is odd

That's a normal feeling, as it's been ages. After 2 -3 times, you skin should get used to it, and should go away.

This will not help you either, you want a warm shower. Hot water, like cold water, closes the pores of the skin and makes the skin tighter. This inturn can lead to more stress on the skin and rashes.

The best time to have a shave, I find, is after being in a steam room for 5 - 10 minutes (you do have a steam room, don't you?!).

I used to have shaving rash but this technique helped me and it's free (after optional construction of steam room of course).

Now where is a good place to buy a safety razor and a top hat?!

After showering, do not dry your face. Use a brush and a shaving soap, gently scrub the brush over your face for about 2 minute. Than use a hot towel for about 3 minute, that way your face will be prepared for shaving and well cleaned.
