Bit disappointed that Moriarty was used so blatantly in this ep... I was hoping it'd be a long-term mystery. Either way it *must* be recommissioned.
I was thinking that too. But then how would you know the danger was there? Also, Spoiler surely Sherlock realises that the majority of plastic explosives are stable enough be be shot without detonating .
Spoiler Yeah, that irritated me. Specific reference was made to semtex (Which is fair enough, given how much of it went where, Moriarty getting hold of it is believable), but it's certainly stable enough to not go off without a proper detonator. Yeah, the sniper rifle/laser dot was a bit of a joke, especially considering the way they were darting around. Looked more like assault rifles held by amateurs. Except for the single shot for the old woman.
All of the above. Spoiler Moriarty's acting was just downright bizarre, although I was pleased that he had the predatory head-wavering mannerism. I have no idea what he's doing being brought out so blatently, given what a built-up faceless presence he is in the books. And the snipers...ah, lollerskates. They never really got hold of the right tone or pace after the first ep, which was perfect. Second and third ones were a bit twitchy and gimmicky and too densely packed without enough of what makes Sherlock Sherlock.
Spoiler Best description of Jim Moriarty from Twitter "Oh No - Moriarty is Graham Norton in a designer suit!"
+1 agree I seriously hoped that Moriarty would have been a cloak in the background rather than a little high pitched *****!
I finally got around to watching the first episode and have to say I was pleasantly surprised.... To be honest I was not expecting much from it but it was fairly fast paced, whitty, well written and the characters were, I think, well cast....... I will be watching the next episode tonight and hope for ore of the same.....
I was the same, if sherlock isn't played by Basil Rathbone, then i am not interested in the slightest. However the recent Sherlock film had me cursing before its release, but it was almost watchable if you have the ability to blank everything you know about Sherlock and watch it for what it is. The first episode of this TV adaptation caught me completely off guard with his accent, its spot on which surprised the hell out of me, and now i want more!!!
My guess is that Spoiler if this goes to a full series they'll replace Moriarty and explain that this maniac was someone employed by him to pretend to be him/other convenient plot device to explain that Moriarty isn't a frothing, sexually confusing dips*** - this may be not so much a guess as a fervent hope...
Definitely more to come. Don't know when just yet. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-10925753
Holmes: "And this, Watson, is the final proof we need. Mankz's habitual habit of mammary ogling has finally sent the poor urchin blind" Watson: "Astounding Holmes! You've done it again!"
I'll be you arch nemesis =D If it gets me out of the house more lol I agree about Moriarty, single worse casting ever! I half expected him to burst into song a some point.
I really enjoyed the first episode, the second was good but not as good as the first. This last one whilst still well written and a good watch was the weakest of all three IMO and I wasn't particularly fond of the bit in the swimming pool just didn't feel like it fit. Mwuahahah. My team of 10 snipers, all with wobbly red laser sights will be visiting shortly.
