I've also tried the demo out. It doesn't look that bad, but for some reason they've changed the names of the clans. Anyone know why?
If you running this on a ATI card which driver revisions are you using? I have to use driver 10.5 to get N:TW to run smooth and stable on my 5870. Anything newer and it stutters and eventually crashes. Reading the TWCenter forums its a really common problem with the ATI drivers and E:TW engine. Shogun 2 looks good but I would like it to be stable.
Greetings! Some huge problems with nVidia drivers and Empire too. For 6 months it was unplayable with the most recent released nVidia drivers.
But how do you find it matches up against the first Shogun Total War? They've obviously worked a lot on the graphics and added some new tactical features, but I feel it's taken away some of the fun that the old game offered.
That's why I bought a retail copy!! Mine should arrive today - I have to pop out for an hour later so I guess it will arrive then!
leave it download overnight i've got 4 TW games to download. just bought the 4 TW games from Rome to Napoleon for a £10 just get someone with Shogun 2 preorder to gift it to you. it's a fantastic deal.
I had forgotten that even with a DVD it is a pain in the rear trying to stop Steam from downloading it anyway! Anyway, after 5 attempts of ; insert disk steam servers busy start to download 16Gb stop download delete local game content eject disk go to top It is now finally installing from disk!! There is however apparently a 4Gb update to install afterwards! Haven't they heard of monthly quotas!!! Phew!
I'm glad I'm not the only one having a problem getting it to install from the disk. Rather ridiculous oversight if you ask me for a game this large. For me it's not so much the bandwidth limit but just the massive amount of time it will take, even with my high speed connection. Anyone have a foolproof way of getting it to install from disk as it just goes to download it from steam for me EDIT: Found a solution to anyone having troubles installing from disk Delete the local content and close steam. Then Run and enter c:\program files (x86)\steam\steam.exe -install E: With the appropriate path for steam.exe and the drive with your disk in. Steam will bring up the usual box to start installation but after it's done with that it will go to disk install rather than download it Now to read some more Space Captain Smith while it installs
Bah, Amazon are idiots and sent my pre-order by Royal Mail. So it isn't here yet, despite having Prime. I hate Royal Mail.
Some screenies of one of my first battles. The foul enemies attempted to storm my keep, and it goes disastrously for them.
Currently downloading... 16gb download though, will have to play this late into the night tomorrow and be a joke at work Thursday! Plus I have to watch the Chelsea game... grrr! Always in a rush to play new games... need to remember the 30 odd hours I have spare at the weekend (sleep is spare time ).
