But what happens when you're besieging, and they come out and attack you? (and are then forced in to the scenario you were avoiding).

Looks like they still need to fix sieges then!

Much easier to defend in that situation than enter the meat grinder that sieges can become.

TBH, the game doesn't lend itself that well to a demo since its pretty in depth! Though, I have to say, if you like it, you'll LOVE the rest of the game

I agree that sieges are a bit of a nightmare for the attackers, which I guess is realistic! You can lose your best units that you've carefully cultivated to inferior ones. Much easier to starve them out and force them to attack you on YOUR terms.

I've seen this games crazy AI at work first hand and it's completely mad, it grouped enemy forces all in one place where they remained for quite sometime until we started to pursue with ninjas to which they responded by moving forward ever so slightly at which time we decided to back off and just finish the entire army with archers .

Is great when you buy a new game and then it needs a gig download to finish the gam, though aside from that cant seem to find a gd area to start in.

The game has brilliant gameplay and spectacular graphics. It's a shame my rig doesn't make the most out of it. However the only downside I've found is that the game seems slightly pre-mature. What I mean by this is that on co-op campaign there are a few major and minor glitches when ending turns. E.g. 1. My friend stayed 1 season behind me; he was at winter 1553 but I was at spring 1554. E.g. 2. Both human players cannot end turns meaning we can no longer continue the campaign. Hopefully Creative Assembly will fix this soon.

I recommend starting on Rome or Medieval II. Best of the series right there. Shogun II is pretty buggy (As ever when CA release a TW game) at the moment but they will sort that out soon enough.

The battles are great; the multiplayer works well in co-op and VS...and it looks so pretty!

I really recommend the TW series. Played them for years now. =]

    Greetings!
    What bugs did you find?
Been playing for 22 hours now and found any. It even has naval invasions at release!

PS: And Rome and Medieval2 lack the new features (production buildings on the map, naval battles, automatic replenishments, tech tree, etc).

I've not found anything major either - I would say it was one of the most 'complete' CA releases for a long time (if you forget the AA and DX11 thing)!
