Hey Guys! My Rig setup as follows! AMD xp1800 Palomino 20Gb HDD (Master) 10GB (Slave) KS75A ECS Mobo! 1 case fane 1 cpu heatsink + fan (Duh) My temps are 53c to 50c idle anf 57c underload well i was playing a game when i quit it looked at temps and it was 57c cpu temp case was 32temp hdd was 40c room temp is about 23. should i be worried about this guys? i have one case fan o more space unless i cut a hole in the side panle and conect another fan to it :d i dont have any instabilty probs (yet) Thank you!
looks to me like you could benefit from some more case fans... and im not sure but 57* is pretty high...
I wouldnt start worrying until you have stability problems. Onboard temperature sensors will (mostly) never give you an accurate reading.
I have a similar set-up to yourself (see sig) and my temps are the same or higher. After gaming my case temp is roughly 42 and the cpu 53. In summer that raises and it used to run regulary about 57-61 degrees. I only started measuring my temps after my PC was playing up and i discovered my heatsink had slipped. When i looked in my BIOS my temp was 91 degrees! Anyways its ran stabily ever since.
well i was just playing a game and its temp went from 52 to 60c!! so probles anyway. so i took off my side panel and its now 45c not sure what it is underload yet! will post as soon as i know cheers!
52c underload with side panale open. its now 46 at idle. hmm i might make a hole in my side panle and add another fan will this make ANY diffrence?
It'll probably drop your temperatures by a few degrees. One thing you can do though, is take the fan off your heat sink, and check there it isn't full of dust, a friend of mine had the same high temperature troubles causing instabilities, he had a mat of dust under his fan. But as previously said, if your system is stable, then there's not too much to worry about, stability > temperature.
well its got a bit of dust not that much though. oh if i just get a Exust blower (not sure how its spelt) will that drop temps at all?
I'm going to reiterate what has already been said. The temperature sensors on most motherboards and those built in to chips are terrible. Most aren't even accurate to 10 degrees either side of the actual temp. Much more important is stability. If the system is stable, then you have no problems with your temperature, and it is likely that the board is giving you a fals reading. 8-ball
Okay thank you 8-ball. well im gonna put my side pannle on what if it hits 70c then should i be worried? Thanks!
Only if it starts to become unstable. If you're computer starts to become unstable, it's a pretty good indication that something is overheating. If it's still stable then it is merely hot rather than "overheating", and that still depends on how accurate the temp probe is. 8-ball
