Equipment Should I buy a decent camera?

I've just got back to uni, and so am using me 28" Hanns.G as my main screen with my Dell U2311 as my secondary, and I've noticed how bad all of my photos on my flickr look? Atleast when it comes to the blacks areas, for instance the lego vs warhammer, whereas on the DELL it just looks plain black, on the Hanns.G there are swathes of different colours.

Is it just showing how bad at colour reproduction my Hanns.G is, or is it just showing how bad the photo is? (both my latest keyboard photos are similar, suddenly looks like there's loads of noise, and a large yellow tinge in the centre of the screen I hadn't noticed before on the DELL :/
