Yea nokia 770, running remote desktop to the file server. Which runs netremote/girder to control everything. Then a USB-UIRT to transmit ir signals to the tv etc. Not got it fully setup yet, not got the time to play around with it really. one day it might be finished
It is an Aopen i945GMm-HL motherboard. It's an Intel Mobile Core Duo mobo which is a close relation to the Aopen i945GTm-VHL and for practical purposes the same thing. mATX form factor, low power, and it takes (for some reason) mobile SO-DIMM RAM.
closet servers are awesome. i've got a case for it, but i'm in the middle of painting it. so it looks like this now.
still buyable? I have a mobile intel mobo thats dying on me and i know for a fact that aopen takes a t7200 and 4gb ram easily
This is one of my two servers (I'll take pics of the other one soon) It's an Axiomtek eBOX630 embeded industrial machine. It's completely fanless, the case itself is a big aluminium heatsink. Totally silent. It's powered by a 600MHz Celeron CPU and has an 80GB drive inside, with a 60GB external drive hooked up over USB. Runs FreeNAS 0.69RC2 (Kralizec) (Built on FreeBSD 6.4). Serves as a torrent server (built in Transmission with web interface), and was our primary samba share server up untill yesterday. Current uptime as I write this is 97 days, 15 hours
Got mine from Spiredream Trading on eBay who occasionally get salvaged boards in. They are fully functional. In fact, they've got one for sale now: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AOPEN-Micro-A...14&_trkparms=72:1683|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318
looks nice, whats USD price? Im not fancy my conversion ratios... I might be getting one of those when my check comes...
tyvm well thats not bad... I might just be getting me one of those Would make use of that nice T7200...
I now have an HTPC! Spec: Athlon64 X2 3600+ (2.0GHz) Abit NF-95 (thanks to Atomic) 2x 512MB DDR400 ATI HD3450 graphics 400GB Samsung DVDRW Compro T220 TV tuner EZCool S360 case (Amazon link but I got mine from Aria) The whole thing is pretty much silent except for the hard disk rattling and the DVD drive whoooshing. I'm going to get some rubber/silicone for the hard disk, and hopefully software limit the DVD drive to 4x or something. I was really impressed by the quality of the T220, considering that it was £24 and all the reviews say it's crap! I'm using MediaPortal. One annoying thing is that the USB ports on the front are upside down, and point downwards! There's no way of turning the right way up either Inside the box: Outside the box (it's SO ugly, but I have plans )
Server: Running Media Portal Tv Server with dual PCI-E freeview tuners HTPC: Pentium Dual Core @ 2.4ghz 2GB DDR2 800MHz 120GB 2.5" SATA HDD ATi 2400pro Graphics DVD-RW Media Portal Client MCE Remote Jeantech media cube case
Second server time! Finally tidied the desk a bit and took a picture of my second server... The case is an older CoolerMaster Centurion (no idea on the model number) that my brother modded with wheels on the bottom (quite handy). The PSU is a 520W OCZ ModXStream. My old E6300 as stock speeds, cooled by a Foxconn cooler (more quiet than the intel stock one) sitting in a Intel DP965LT motherboard that appears to have dodgy SATA ports The memory is a single stick of 1GB Kingston ram, but I plan to add more one of these days... It's running Debian Lenny off an old Quantum Fireball 20GB hard drive (IDE ). The Optical drive is a stealthed Samsung DVD burner that gets almost no use It's mostly used for Samba, sharing only a 1TB WD Green drive at the moment, but about to grow It also runs ZNC for me and a few IRC addicted friends... Come on, guys, we wanna see more server cheesecake!
Well I have a new one AMD Athlon 64 3400 Sckt 754 @ 2.5ghz 1gb Ram FX5950 Ultra 160gb Seagate IDE drive Slackware 12.2 linux
im in the process of prepping my old P4 machine for its status as server/firewall P4 3GHz 512MB DDR Ram 80GB IDE 120GB IDE CD-RW Nothing special, but it should be running ipcop or pfsense if i can nab a extra nic sometime soon
Bought this for my gaming clan - US$125 from eBay. Figured that if I can get this up and running and co-located in a datacentre I could save a few bucks rather than forking over $140 a month for server rentals. Intel SR1300 1U chassis Intel SE7501WV2 server board 2x Intel Xeon procs at 2.8Ghz. 73GB SCSI drive 2GB PC-3200 DDR RAM Currently have Ubuntu 8.10 Server Edition installed on it, but this Linux thing is driving me nuts. Ready to uninstall and install WS 2003 or maybe the 2008 Beta. Also still need to do some hardware upgrades (another HDD for RAID; more RAM; etc.)
Server 1: P4M 1.4Ghz, 2GB ram, MiniITX case. Sits in a cupboard running a couple of small things (webserver etc) - only got 1x80GB disk in it. Server 2: Dual P4 Xeons at 3.02Ghz with 4GB DDR Ram and 2x74GB Raptors - does random stuff when needed Server 3: Dual 45nm 3.33Ghz Xeons (X5470s) with 16GB FBDIMMS ,1x150GB Velociraptor and 3x2TB WD Green disks. Used for 3D rendering etc. HTPC = original Xbox running XBMC connected via cable to network to stream films etc.
