I received it yesterday, there some dust inside the lens and a tiny scratch on the left side but pictures are 100% fine. The autofocus get stuck when the focus ring is completely turned on the left but the manual focus work just fine, overall it was still a deal for 35$. I sent a mail to Canon Canada to know if they can fix it for free XD I heard they do that to show hoq awesome their customer service is.

I added a Nikkor/Nikon M-Ring extension tube to my collection. I'll post some shots to the extension tube thread (and here) in a day or two. Got it for a bargain, super impressed!

    That a FM2 top left? I miss mine :(... I suspect that's a FE2 though.

That's a lot of gear. I don't have that much and I do this for a living LOL.. well.. I don't have 3 bodies anyway.

I've trimmed down a great deal recently. I've got rid of all my DX gear entirely and now only have the D800, 14-24 f2.8, 24-70 f2.8, 50 1.8G, 70-200 f2.8 VR and 70-300 VR lenses. I plan to invest in a D600 as a second body. I'll take another pic of it all when I have time.

    You liking your D800?

Just fitted a Pixel Vertax grip to mine. Fit and finish is indistinguishable from the Nikon one. I'll post up a pic in a bit.

Yeah I'm getting on really well with it now, thanks Pook.

I've found that the slow FPS rate has not really limited my ability to capture sports at all. The main sport I shoot is waterskiing, so it is possible to anticipate the action without too much trouble, as you know where the skier will be making turns through the slalom course. And for everything besides sports, it's just superb. I love the handling of the D800 too. Everything is where I want it and it just feels right in my hand.

The detail that you get from this sensor is spectacular for a DSLR. You know that Nikon have made a great product when it gets good reviews when compared against the Leica S2 (D800E)......

Like you, I have been looking at a 3rd party grip, but was not sure which one to go for, so I'm pleased that the Pixel Vertax one seems good. I also picked up a TC-14E II in the week, to use with my 70-200 and I'm very happy with that too.

Just need to expand my lens collection now. The 14-24 is calling haha.

Just waiting for my little compact to charge to take a pic... it's completely flat. My D600 is at work, and everything I have here at the moment are film cameras.

So it's not actually my gear, but in the spirit of the thread I thought I'd share this. And to think, this isn't half the gear up there.

That does look good. I think I may have to get one myself. What's the quality of the rubber grip like?

It will be interesting to see if it retains functionality throughout its life.

The finish and feel of the rubber grips and the non gripped areas seem identical to the camera itself as you can see in the pics.
