Undergrads was great. I loved Dilbert too! But this is going way back now, the show i wish would really come back is "Perfect Strangers". I dont know if anyone remembers it but it was a very good, funny show.

Enterprise and futurama! Definatly! Always used to like due south when i was a kid too. :worried:

3rd Rock From The Sun, that was pretty good. Sliders aswell, seem to remember reading that the last episode has a pretty pants ending for the series ender? Would of been good if that carried on

It's because studios are all run by bean-counters these days.

Reality TV & "moan shows" (jerry Springer, etc) are a lot cheaper to make than
    sfx-heavy scifi. :wallbash:

Just look at how long Dr Who has been off-air! It ran for 26 years straight, then the
BBC was placed int the hands of a CEO who didn't understand scifi, so it got cancelled
in favour of soap-operas & moan shows.

After 16 long years, we finally get the doc back this Easter!

Sex and the City had run it's course. I agree it could have ended a bit better... BIG?! But Carrie waddling off happy in the rain was good enough for me :p

Third Rock from the Sun was fantastic, but I also think in the end it had run it's course.

TV show that never came back and I loved to pieces was 'The Grimleys'. Dunno if any of you will remember it but it was a comedy on itv based in dudley during the 70's and revolved around Gordon Grimley and his family - and his love for his teacher played by amanda holden (sluuuuut!). It had two series and never came back. I loved it mostly because I think it's one of very few comedy's set in a different time period that got the trends and attitudes of the time spot on whilst still being hilarious! Where did that show go? damnit!

Yeah but tbh it was dead predictable, just like the ending of Friends really. Ah well, at least I've got Desperate Housewives now...

I agree it was predictable.. I'd have preferred it for BIG to have snuffed it and Aidan to have found out his son wasn't his and run off back to Carrie. lol :)

Friends sucked bum for years anyways :p

Yeah I preferred Aidan as well tbh (not in a gay way :hehe: ), Big was far too old and weird, the only things I saw them share in common was sense of humour. Ah well :p
Can anyone else see the distinct similarities between SATC and DH?

We have shows! It's just either:

    a) They don't get cancelled even though they're garbage (Last of The Summer Wine)
    b) They stop making the show after 2 series 'cos "We don't want to go stale" (The Office)
    c) They get so successful they pump tonnes of money into the new series and it's so appalling they give up because nobody likes them anymore (Red Dwarf)
    d) They stop making the series, but keep coming back for "Christmas Specials" (Only Fools And Horses)
    e) They stop making the show but decide to bring it back with a completely new cast/version cos it was popular (Dr. Who)
    f) They actually do get cancelled but were so rubbish nobody cares (don't know, don't care)

I think the fact that most UK shows (read:sitcoms) don't get noticed if they're off-air is down to the fact they're so short lived. The average length for a "show" (non-serial/soap) here will be 6-9 episodes. Whereas in the states it's more like 20-30 episodes.

Couldn't have said it better myself Logan :) The lifespan of American programs is a bit more dragged out than the UK because Americans are less fussy about what they watch- they can put up with 10 series of Friends etc and still find it funny, whereas here people like something new and different every so often. As much as I'd have liked to see The Office series 3, I'm sure Gervais' new sitcom will be something special as well.

Farscape kicked *ss! Really sorry to see it go.

Futurama was wicked, better than the simpsons, who can forget "Hey sexy mamma, wanna kill all humans?" :D

G.I.T.S bored the t*ts off me in the second season. Season 1 was cool with lots of action and SFX and season 2 was all close up face shots and boring, convoluted storylines :(
