Sup. I am thinking of building a new rig in a few months time. The shuttle SN41G2 Barebones takes my fancy but does the PSU have enough juice to power a rad 9700 pro?.
On other forums, I have read of users using Radeon 9700 Pro with 3.06 GHz Intel processor in the Shuttle SB51G systems. So it shouldnt really be a problem. Although to some extent it can depend on the PSU you get. Shuttle generally uses two brands - Achme and another (not sure which one). The Achme one has enough power to drive the R9700Pro. The other one *might* have some issues.
Now, why is it that I couldn't get an answer to my post? http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30796
Cos I only picked up that info when I looked around yesterday when I was trying to fix my Shuttle. It was hacing driver issues. I thought that it might have been the PSU and I was looking into these kinda things. Anyway, next time I will try to answer yours questions
These Shuttle systems look very good. Although i would like on i also wouldnt. I wouldnt really want to buy one of these because you cant customise them as much as Full tower cases. You cant add as many internet pheriperals to them unlike when you have got a huge case. But i think they are good if you arent going to be adding and adding to them like i do. thanx
Newegg has the sk41g on sale where you get a 60 dollar in store credit for buying one. I'm gonna get me one of those and put the 60 dollar credit down on the new Parhelia that is coming out and use that to replace my NLE. That would give me my capture card, two monitors and a much needed upgrade for the system. It is currently a pre T-bird processor. The only drawback would be losing all the storage space, but I think I will move that to firewire. Besides, they are only 80 gig drives, so they probably should be replaced anyway.
