Im looking at getting a shuttle, but am undecided whether to go for 939 or 754, a 939 is expensive, ands does not feature its main advantage pci-express in shuttles? Is there scope to overclock the 754 in a shuttel, either SK83G or SN85G4v3. Would prefer the cheaper SK83g, although ocing would be advantageous. Also any idea on good ram etc, for ocing these?
there is a new shuttle with 939 and pci-E support and its a new shape shuttle. lots of sites have its details avail
Aside from obvious details like sockets, the 939 variant supports dual channel DDR RAM and uses a lower power consumtion Winchseter core; it also overclocks like crazy PCI Express is just now coming out on shuttle systems for AMD, so you can now do that as well. The performance difference between a 939 and 754 shuttle can be fairly large; go with what means more to you; performance and new high tech features or performance and older technology that costs less and is only slightly behind in the performance loop most of the time.
s745 dont clock too bad either some people have hax them at extreme speeds... if i was you i would try and get the newest shuttel*s939 wth pci express*although i wouldnt if it was ugleh... although it the best... its proberly by far the most expensive one ... just depends by how much? and are you willing to go that little bit thurther...
i think im going to go with a soltek qbic 3801, seems to be nice and has 2x 5,25 disc drive bays!! Not the mirror one tho, all aluminium
