Mmm to bad about the anodizing. Your spray job looks even as far as I can tell, the pict doesn't show enough detail on this end ... You know what you see there! You might try some of those finishes you can bake in a pottery shop kiln. No need to rush this one. Project looks sweet. More please :D

Project: "Sidewinder"-- really big awsome paint update [06.09]

aw my last update really sucked I realise the pic doesn't actually show anything I was kind of panicky cause its been some time since my last update

oh well no mater I've been really busy over the weekend but first things first my new mouse finally arrived a brand new Sidewinder x8 of course.

    here are the fan-controllers instaled
    [IMG]

Now to the painting part I painted the fins in our "barn" attic the reasoning was it's got a huge door where the fumes can get out.
Here's a pic of me the stuff I'm wearing wasn't so colourful but I got bored waiting for the paint to dry and let my imagination flow.
To anyone who uses cans to paint I recommend to buy a mask like the on I've got after a lot of painting I took of my mask and went out I remembered I forgot something and went in even with so much ventilation I was feeling dizzy after about 30seconds.

Here a fin after the first layer
    [IMG]

    and this after the second
    [IMG]

    All fins done

Ok now back to the Sidewinder x8 personally I think it's really easy to disassemble and reassemble providing you remember how personally I like the x8 more cause you got more paint options as you will see but I don't really like the mouse in its original form cause I really hate stuff that's been painted silver just to make it look like its been made out of metal. Anyway this is my original Sidewinder just so that you can compare them.

I went for red blue green and black my reasoning there all the my led colours. I decided to paint only the buttons red cause it allredy got's red leds and more red would be overkill and to much.

The finished product I was and still am dolling all over it

I just had to make this
    [IMG]

well that it from me for today I really hope you like it I also made this but that's completely offtopic

 More paint on you than the project. -Hey, at least it was deliberate.

It looks like you did a really good job too. I guess the extra 'practice' paid off.:hehe:

Lovin the 'brave' colors on the mouse, when I saw the parts picture, I really didnt think it would work, but the completed picture looks awesome!! Love it!

Sidewinder -- me trying to make pics [22.09]

    Hi thanks everybody :D
a little status update currently some of my parts are getting anodised and I should be geting them back within the next week. At some point i got bored and decided to mod my music headphones. I did a little sleeving but I ran out so I'm gonna leave my molex unsleeved cause I'm really broke.
Anyway I've been trying to make depth blur pics and i think they worked out really nicely.

Looks superb, can't wait to see it finished. Good job with the painting as well, I've never had the nerves to get such a nice finish with spray cans. I always rush or get bored and end up with rubbish paint jobs :)
