    So, boys and girls

I am the proud owner of a Phenom X3 8650. I junked the standard heatsink as soon as the processor arrived, and I have been using an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64. I am quite happy with the temps, since I don't have any plans on overclocking. The problem is that my pc is on most nights, and I want to be almost deadly silent. The fan on the Freezer 64 is a 92mm fan, so it is not exactly silent.

Money is no object, but I would like to stay aircooling. I want a better system before I submit myself to the fullblown H2O multi-loop solution.

I am not looking for great temps, I just want SILENCE! My case is a Raven RV01, so the stack effect already helps the cooling somewhat. The best thing would be if I was able to use the heatsink in passive, with the fans either removed, or just turned off.

I was looking at the following coolers, but be free to correct me if I am wrong:

    IFX-14
    Titan Fenrir
    Noctua NH-D14

    As a side question.

My RAM is the OCZ Reaper, with the raised heatsink. The will hinder almost all of the large aircoolers I am looking at, so I was wondering whether I could remove the heatsinks from them? When I touch them after heavy gaming, or video editing, they are just "hand warm", and not really hot in any way.
As I said, I am not planning any overclocks, so they shouldn't get any warmer if I don't crank the voltage.

the titan is quiet but only at the lowest fan speed. it may be worth buying a corsair h50 and fitting a scythe GT to it. just remember to use it as an intake.

Okay, I was looking at the H50, and it might seem like the thing I need. I'll buy 2 GT's to cool it in push-pull. I just need to find somewhere to mount the H50 in my Raven RV01, but that must be doable :dremel:

H-50 is well rated, I'm even thinking of dumping my TRUE for one soon.

My only concern is that some people complain of excessive pump noise from the H50, and that would kinda defeat the purpose of spending 100's of dollars on new equipment.

Okay, I just calculated the total from Amazon.co.uk. It adds up to 140 pounds with shipping. Thats not bad for the H50, 2xScythe GT, and a Accelero S1 Rev. 2 for my GPU

Have found the H50 to work very well and silently in a set up similar to yours.
Attached the radiator to the top outlet fan in a push pull set up.
Pls excuse the wiring ,first build (effort) will be prettying it up this weekend.

The Kit only come with 4 long bolts so put in 2 diagonally through the top and 2 opposite diagonal underneath but it feels stable:)
Have been trying to source new bolts but not easy to find may have to Email the nice guys at Corsair.:D
The one thing to watch when installing the pump :eek:nly give the 4 retaining ring pump screws a partial turn before sliding the pump under the retaining flanges if screwed right down it won't go in and the Tim gets screwed (found out the hard way ,it is in the instructions.):sigh:
    Chris.

Uhh, thanks. I would most likely keep the exhaust fan in my RV01, and then mod a new hole in the back of it to mount the radiator, so the air being sucked in was cool.
