Zalman 7000, Thermaltake Silent Tower, or Coolermaster Hyper 6 with a couple of really quiet fans, SilenX or Acoustifan.

I got a 92mm Acoustifan the otherweek and it's scary how quiet it is but it doesn't shift a huge amount of air, gonna test it on my sp-97 tomorrow :D.

I'm also interested in any silent socket-a coolers, it's just to cool a duron mobile 1000, atm i'm thinking of jus putting a slowish fan on a aerocool phantom heatsink but that'll have to wait till i fix the mobo :wallbash:

Thermaltake Silent Tower without doubt, even with an extra 120mm its near silent and with SpeedFan the only thing you'll hear is your PSU :D

got a acoustifan rigged up to my sp-97. before it was a tornado running around 7v doing ~2200 rpm with temps under load of 29C. Now the temps are ~45C under full load. Not too bad considering the fan is totally silent.

btw the thermister is jus hanging in the case atm so the fan will most likely be at minimum speed

It cuts it for my second system, a 2400+ at 2450MHz with 1.9v, idling at around 32°C ;)

P4 not so good, im only 210fsb and my cpu hit 60C load last week in the heat and its usually at 50C load. Bought a 2nd hand thermalright sk900 and i HOPE they have improved A LOT since the sk6 days. Problem is - i broke the fan on it last sept. and so im using a zalman fan bracket instead which isnt quite as good. Vcore 1.49-1.52v, 2.8C

That's probably what the problem is - the built-in fan is perfectly engineered for the heatsink and other fans don't perform as well - when the fan on mine died I ran it with a 125CFM 120mm fan on top of it on my desk and it only improved temps a tiny bit. I did get an RMA on it some 9 months after buying it in the first place though, and this new one is doing me proud :)

Spose i should add that the thermaltake silent tower keeps my p4 1-2deg above ambiant at idle and around 41-45 under load, bear in mind its a 2.66b running at 3.3
