I used to find that handy at times, saved a search or two and I could sarcastically point out to some n00b that if he glanced at the bottom of the screen his problem had been covered and answered 2 x 1014 times already.
Just trying to reduce a bit of server load here and there, bit has been busy lately so it will appear back when wherever all the extra traffic is coming from subsides.
I wondered about that, it does happen, I reckon. Maybe some way to auto-close any thread after 6 month or a year?
Umm, here's a stupid question: if mod's harp at people to just look into older threads and to use the search to answer questions, then why is it that whenever an old thread is brought up again and something is added to it, the thread either gets closed or deleted?
From what I've seen old threads have only been closed if they are no longer relavant, or if it is a potential spam trap.
it seems to be there in certain forums but not others... modding doesnt have it but project logs does
yeah, some guy in the origoanl post has been all like... "hey, i just got a brand new 166mhz pc, 32mb ram, 4gig hdd! YEAH!" and they reply like... "THAT was brand new! wow, you really got chumped!" or such like! its funny when it happens
