will pc4000 memory ( with the little leds on top - sweet!) work ok with athlon 3800 and this asus motherboard ?
no you cannot use pc4000 in a computer that can only take ddr400, ddr400 is pc-3200 so you need to go down to that. Otherwise there is no chance your computer will work. Spend more money on a mobo that can support ddr500 and you can have the consair pc4000 ram
those leds are cheesy, dont that ram come in slower speeds, i belive i have seen it. anyway if you just want lights there are a few kits floating around also cheesy, but hey if it makes you a happy modder it cant be bad we need a dual cathode smilie
new memory hopefully this is the right stuff. i really should have paid more attention when iwas ordering , shouldnt be too much of a hassle for them to chaneg the order i think. well i hope so anyway !
That's completely wrong. No motherboards officially support DDR500/PC4000. That's just what the ram is rated for, you get there by overclocking to 250FSB. It would work fine, but it wouldn't run at the rated speed. That newer stuff is more like what you want though. The LED kits that stick on afterwards are MUCH more cheesy than the built-in ones. At least the ones in the Pro series go with activity. They're kinda fun for some flashiness... either you like them or you don't.
What???? Uh - underclocking memory is not a problem. I would say go for the pc4000 - especially if you want to overclock. But then, from your message, it looks as if you have already changed your order.
well, as it happens i just organised it to be swapped for the errrr - other one. so ill leave it as it is now - thansk for assist thoguh
