Any recommendations for a free way to create simple black & white floor plans?

I've had a trawl online and not found anything that fits the bill

There are a bunch of YT vids on using TinkerCAD to create floorplans, Tre.

Thanks D, I'll check out TinkerCAD.
I've heard of it but not tried it.

Thanks Andy, I did look for some graph paper, but there's none at the office or at home.
Magicplan? I'll take a look at that too

I spent a couple of hours on Tinkercad yesterday and have done first floor plans, but ran into trouble with the ground floor...
I'm going back to re measure today as the numbers don't add up! I know at leas one room is not square, but something is amiss.

Yeh I had that problem with our downstairs. Especially when we had the kitchen done. I sent my measurements to the sales/design person, who said they'd have to come out and measure as mine didn't add up at all. Their measurements were +/-1mm from mine, my house is just that crooked. :hehe:

Assuming you've found what you're after, but just for fun I used to work for these guys who do this for a living: https://www.fixtuur.com/

Although we didn't make general design tools, they were a bit more specific (make a bathroom floorplan so you can buy a new bathroom from this specific bathroom retailer).

At one point we worked with these guys based in Rotterdam who make some pretty software, but they're probably a bit fancier than what you're after https://floorplanner.com/

    There's also this for free:
    https://www.sweethome3d.com/

Less accurate than professional tools but allows first person view to test layouts. We used this when planning son's room layout.
