I'm thinking about using watercooling in my case, but being a watercooling n00b I have no idea where to turn.

So my question is, Is there a basic watercooling kit that can be bought for a reasonable price in the UK ? My motherboard/CPU setup is in my sig and my case is an Antec Plusview 1000AMG.

Define 'reasonable', then we'll tell you if you have a chance or not

I have looked at the reviews but I am still none the wiser really :hehe:

I would only want to watercool my CPU as my GPU/NB has nice passive sinks on them.

As for a reasonable price, hopefully sub £100 :eeek:

well to get under £100 you'd need to choose your components carefully and/or get some or all of it second hand...
best i can see without skimping on performance -
    from OC-UK:
    heatercore £31.62
    Hydor L30 £31.62
    6ft clearflex £9.54
    dtek whitewater poly top £42.18
    T-piece £1.38
    hose clips (12) £4.41
    panaflo "M" 120mm fan £12.87
    total £133.62 inc VAT

if you're prepared to wait/check out scrapyards etc. you might be lucky enough to find a suitable heatercore (or heater matrix as they are known in the UK) cheap - just make sure its made of copper not aluminium...

you might be able to save a tenner or so by getting a differrent block but it won't be as good as a whitewater.

otherwise it's just a case of looking out for a bargain second hand...

Could check out Pug's Site. Kits start from £90.

Might wanna take a look at his hexadragon project also re your case.

    Hopefully not for much longer.

Basically cheap adn water cooling don't mix well. It will end up giving you similar if not worse performance than air cooling.

I would say if you want it now you should go for a kit such as the waterchill.
If you want to build your own your better off waiting and doing more research into it. In the mean time you will be able to save up for better components.

Along with what he wishes to spend, it would be best to know his goals in water cooling.

    Max performance or lowest noise?

The components chosen for the two goals are differant.

If low noise is the goal then a Hydor L20 would do fine, instead of the L30.
The White Water while still a very good choice is less important in a now noise set up. Other lower cost CPU blocks become good options.
Very low noise fan(s) for the rad increase in importance as does a reobus to allow easy control of the fans.

Just some thoughts as he has not indicated a goal in his water cooling interests.

Edit: While the reobus would be a real plus to have, cost considerations could dictate just 7v the fans instead.

And even a low noise & low cost set up can well match most air cooling solutions.
