I'm looking for a webserver distro much like trixbox and ipcop but I want a clean and small webserver with basic functions like php, mysql, ftp, mail and a webbased configuration! more function is not nessarary, i DON*T want it to be like clarkconnect or ebox with firewall functions! thank for your help!
Debian + Webmin then install the other packages you need. Sure its a little more complex to setup and its hardly an out of the box solution, but it is highly customisable (mine sits on a 1GB CF card in my NAS)
i realy don't want to have a regular linux distro to set up myself, first of all I don't have the time to research what needs to go in, i just want it to work, webmin I have tried and I don't like it at all...hard to find what i was looking for, if i remember correctly. i got a tip for this distro on another forum http://www.eisfair.org/en/home/news/ thsi is the best one so far, hopefully i will get a few other tips...
just keep in mind that a regular distro will give you alot more flexability, if you ever should need it
Ubuntu 7.10 Server during the install it has the option to do a LAMP install. After that just apt-get ipcop. I have only played with it a little myself so I have no idea as to the size though. I went the Debian minimal install and just added what I wanted after that.
If you want it to just work out of the box then you may well be better off with Ubuntu. Yes, it has a ton of bloat you don't need, but it has what you do and and it works. It's easier to get rid of stuff than to go hunting for it if that's what's most important.
